Today Chester Bowl and the City of Duluth shared some exciting news- we are on track to expand and renovate the Chalet in 2026!
We are working with LHB on the building design itself, and are making great progress. Our schedule includes having construction documents complete in early February and a contractor selected in mid-March. Construction will begin this Spring, and the project will be completed in time for next winter’s ski and snowboard season! While there are still some administrative and regulatory timelines to hit in this timeline, we are all working hard to be able to build this coming year.
So, what’s next? We need your help!
Thanks to the support of the community and a grant from the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, the project is nearly funded. We have an estimated $250,000 left to raise to turn our vision into a reality.
We need to raise at least $25,000 by the end of 2025 to stay on track. We hope that you will make a gift to Chester Bowl and the Growing Up Chester campaign to renovate and expand the Chalet as part of your year end giving. You donate online at this link! We also love good old fashioned checks, which can be made out to “Chester Bowl” and mailed to 1801 East Skyline Parkway, Duluth MN 55812. Please also spread the word to others who may want to support the campaign.
