Fundraising for Scholarships

At Chester Bowl, we believe that every family should be able to learn to ski or snowboard and attend summer camp regardless of their family income. That’s why we offer full or partial scholarships to families that request one. This winter we awarded $22,882 in winter scholarships to over 100 families, and awarded $32,750 in summer camp scholarships this year- that is the equivalent of 200 weeks of camp!

Unfortunately, there are more requests for scholarships than we can grant. This winter we received over $57,000 in requests- there are so many families that want to be part of our programs but just can’t afford it.

You can help! We have several different ways that you can support the Scholarship Fund and help ensure that any family can be part of Chester Bowl’s programming. Every dollar raised goes directly to support families with scholarships.

Fall Fest: Our annual Fall Fest event was on Saturday, September 20, 2025. It is a free event, but donations at the entrance were accepted, and directly support our scholarship fund. In 2025, because of the community’s generosity, we raised a record $12,250!

Chester Bowl Presents: Warren Miller’s SNO-CIETY: Chester Bowl is delighted to be the host for the legendary annual Warren Miller ski film again this year. This is the 76th year of this incredible film, and the second year that Chester Bowl is hosting it. The show is at Clyde Iron on Friday, November 14th, with doors opening at 6 and show time at 7.

Tickets are on sale and are available at this link: https://one.bidpal.net/warrenmillersnociety/ticketing

This is a link through OneCause/BidPal, and you will need to create an account with a user name and password. If you purchased tickets or bid on the silent auction in previous years you should already have an account.

Warren Miller’s SNO-CIETY brings the global ski and snowboard community back together to celebrate the start of the season for the 76th year. From the Scottish Highlands and the streets of Finland to the back bowls of Whitewater, BC and a local hill-turned-terrain park in downtown Denver, SNO-CIETY celebrates the spirit of winter—wherever you ride and however you connect to the snow and the community around it.

Silent Auction: Our annual silent auction is back! The auction will be an online auction, opening on November 11th, and closing on November 14th. We will have an amazing selection of items and experiences to bid on, and you can feel good knowing that your bids support your community. Look for the link to bid right here in November!

Donate:  Finally, you can simply make a donation. All donations are tax-deductible, and every dollar you donate will go directly towards scholarships. You can donate online through our bidding software. A link will be here in early November. You can also send a check to Chester Bowl, 1801 East Skyline Parkway, Duluth MN 55812.

We are so grateful to those businesses and organizations that have already financially supported the scholarship fund, including Essentia Health, LHB, Rotary Club 25, the Wetherby Fund of the Boreal Waters Community Foundation, and Whole Foods Co-Op!

Whichever events you participate in, we appreciate that you are part of our Chester Bowl Community. It is because of people like you that we are able to continue to offer scholarships to families that need the financial support to be able to participate in Chester Bowl programs.
