On most Friday nights at 6:00pm, Sam Luoma, from the Chester Bowl staff, is at the terrain park at the top left of the chairlift. Sam & his crew work with both skiers and snowboarders on how to “ride the rails” and do tricks. Most nights there is a sponsor that provides awards for fun competitions. Everyone is welcome to participate at no cost.
Our beloved Chester Park suffered extensive damage in yesterday’s flash flood, including the washing out of the upper dam. We are going to start cleaning up the park on Monday, June 25. Here are the details.
Community Clean Up Of Chester Bowl Park
Monday June 25 & Monday July 2
7-8:30pm
Open to all, from children to seniors
Please bring: work gloves, garden shovels & rakes, chain saws, pruners, lopers, wheelbarrows and other outdoor tools that might be useful.
Please meet at the playground for a name tag & to assigned to a group. Several people are needed to be group leaders. Please respond if you will be a group leader, will help in general & what tools you can bring. We need several people that can safely operate chainsaws, and others to drag debris away to the road where it will be picked up by city crews. We will start at the park entrance & eventually work our way back towards the soccer field. Please help pass the word on this to anyone who loves Chester Park & would like to be of service.
Thanks for your support.
